Innovative Technologies for Diagnosis and Management of Iron Overload

Aferrix is an innovative leader in development of novel tools for early diagnosis and monitoring of toxic iron in the serum. The company has developed several methods that quantify different forms of toxic iron in the serum, which are not detected by conventional tests. During 2004 Aferrix will begin providing its iron testing services for treatment centers that specialize in Thalassemia and to pharmaceutical companies that are developing iron chelators.

Aferrix is sourcing its product development and commercialization capabilities from Pronto Diagnostics, a leading provider of molecular diagnostic products with extensive knowledge, experience, and R&D capabilities in SNP-based analysis of genetic variations.

Testing Services

feROSTM LPI is a new assay for the detection of redox-active Labile Plasma Iron (LPI). It is significant for the assessment of toxic iron in serum and for monitoring iron chelation therapy.
